This power plant began service in 1912 under the Wahnapitae Power Company, and was acquired by the Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario in April, 1930. It currently has two generators though it appears that at one point, it had a third.

The Wahnapitae Power Company owned two other generating stations in Coniston and Stinson.

My grandfather worked here in the late sixties. I played here, including in the falls, around the age of seven years old. I always liked this place.
