I was spending some time scouting around on Google Earth, as I often do when I'm bored, and happened to notice this in a field, almost by itself. What was surprising was that it was in an area I had explored before, but I never saw this place. Not surprising that I didn't see it while I was there. It's too far back in the bush to see it from the road. Just surprising I hadn't noticed it on the satellite images before.
So, on a Saturday afternoon while awaiting the first major snowfall of the year, I decided that Max, the Exploring Husky (meh), and I should go have a look. You never know... It might be the last exploration of the season.
We jumped in the truck and went for a drive. Glad I took the truck, and moreover, I'm glad my truck isn't a full-size. It was a bit of a narrow fit, but we made it most of the way in. We stopped and continued on foot.
It doesn't appear that this was ever much more than perhaps a hunting camp, but it was a fun stop just the same. Before long, the snow was just starting and I decided it was probably best to get going.
