History:

Northern Customs Concentrators, Limited, built this 80 - stamp mill at mileage 104 on the T & NO Railway in 1913. It processed ore from several Cobalt area mines until 1922 when it was purchased by M.J. O'Brien Limited.

From 1940 to 1943 the mill was leased to C.V.J. Shaughnessy. In 1950 it was sold to the Cobalt Lode Silver Mines, Limited and operated continuously until October 15, 1956 when it was destroyed by fire.

Personal Commentary:

Like most of the mills in Cobalt, there was nothing left of this once huge structure except the concrete foundation. Although it was part of the self-guided tour through Cobalt, we had somehow missed this location. I only stumbled upon it by accident when I followed a path from the O’Brien Mine site.
